Your Acupuncturist

Donna Rebadow, M.S., M.S.Ac., L.Ac.

Donna has several academic degrees in the areas of Health Science, Physical Education, Wellness Education, Psychology, Computers and now Acupuncture.

She has taught in the Maricopa Community College system since 1982, first at Phoenix College for 5 years and is currently on the faculty at Paradise Valley Community College (since 1987).

In addition to education, she brings with her experiences as a professional athlete, student pilot, musician, poet, computer programmer, linguist and most importantly, humanitarian.

"Giving back to the community is something that my parents modeled for me from a very early age and I have never forgotten that impact on me and the people in the community."

People are always asking me what sport I played, how did I get involved with bringing humanitarian aid around the globe, how did I get started in acupuncture, and how I could possibly give up the puppy I raised for the Eye Dog Foundation?

All of those questions bring a smile to my face and my answer for you is that you'll have to come to my office and ask me! :-)

Community / Volunteerism

  • I began going on calls with my Dad when he was a volunteer for the American Red Cross back in the 1960s. He started because of the help that our Western New York community gave us when our house burned down when I was 4 years old.
  • I volunteered through high school and college with organizations like Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and Project Understanding.
  • I have been volunteering (off and on) at the Andre House since the winter of 1986. I have brought my high school and college students there and they tell me that it changed their lives.
  • Child Crisis Nursery (1987-2002)
  • Puppy Raiser for the Eye Dog Foundation (1999 - 2006)
  • Maricopa Medical Center - Pet Therapy Team (with Sadie, the Wonder Dog); (2003 - 2007); look for her book "Wednesdays with Sadie: Miracles at Miracle" to be published coming Spring 2011.  She won the 2005 Friends of Animal Care and Control "Hero Award" for her work with the kids at the hospital.
  • Hospice of the Valley - Pet Connection program (2007-2010)
  • Humanitarian aid to Chiapas, Međugorje, Mostar, Chengdu and soon to Ghana! (all ongoing projects - let me know if you want to help)
